Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi received Pakistan’s Kyokushinkan team after their notable performance at the Nations Cup 2026 in Moscow, where the squad secured second and third place prizes. The delegation returned to warm recognition for representing Pakistan with distinction on the international karate stage.
The Kyokushinkan competitors Irfan Khan, Raza Abid and Ali Rehman, guided by coach Aslam Noor, competed across categories during the international event held from February 28 to March 1, 2026. The tournament, organised with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, brought together top athletes and gave Pakistan valuable exposure in high-level Kyokushinkan competition.
During the meeting Ambassador Tirmizi praised the athletes and coach for their dedication and sportsmanship, highlighting how this Kyokushinkan success strengthens Pakistan’s presence in martial arts internationally. The results underline progress in training and competitive readiness among Pakistani karate practitioners.
The team’s podium finishes are seen as a positive sign for the development of karate at home and a source of national pride. Congratulations to Irfan Khan, Raza Abid, Ali Rehman and coach Aslam Noor on their accomplishment and for raising Pakistan’s profile at the Nations Cup 2026.
