A delegation from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan met with the Honourable Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, to discuss recent developments in medical education and the college’s national and international contributions. The delegation was led by Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, President of CPSP, and included Prof. Muhammad Shoaib Shafi (Senior Vice President), Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz (DGNRP), Prof. Aamer Zaman Khan (DGME) and Maj Gen Prof Mazher Ishaq (Director International Relations).
During the meeting the CPSP President updated the Speaker on the institution’s work across Pakistan and abroad, highlighting collaborative programmes and capacity building. He briefed the Speaker on outcomes and follow up from the Post International Medical Education Conference 2026, noting the encouraging feedback received from presidents of Royal Colleges around the world who participated in IMECon 2026.
The Honourable Speaker expressed appreciation for CPSP’s contributions to medical education and training in Pakistan. As a gesture of the college’s commitment to documenting its journey and accountability, the CPSP delegation presented a history book and the institution’s annual performance report to the Speaker. The meeting underscored ongoing efforts to strengthen medical standards and international partnerships that benefit healthcare education in the country.
