Transforming Education Finance for Pakistani Schools

education finance - Transforming Education Finance for Pakistani Schools

ABHI Microfinance Bank Limited and Knowledge Platform (Private) Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore ways of expanding education finance and services for schools, teachers, parents and students across Pakistan.

The agreement sets a collaborative framework to design tailored financial solutions for the education ecosystem, including education financing options for families, earned wage access facilities for teachers and school staff, and financing support for school owners to upgrade technology and operational capacity.

As more institutions adopt digital tools and modern management systems, accessible education finance will be essential to help schools and households keep pace. The partnership aims to align financial services with the evolving needs of schools while promoting greater financial inclusion within the education sector.

Planned outreach will include awareness campaigns, school engagement and joint marketing activities to help educators and parents better understand available financial solutions. Knowledge Platform will support by identifying potential partner schools, assisting in solution design and facilitating engagement within the education community.

In the initial phase the partners will run a pilot program with selected school groups in the Islamabad and Rawalpindi region to evaluate product adoption, collect feedback from participating schools and families, and refine offerings ahead of any wider rollout.

The agreement was signed by Mariam Pervaiz, Chief Commercial Officer at ABHI Microfinance Bank, and Mahboob Mahmood, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Knowledge Platform. The signing was attended by Kabeer Naqvi, Entrepreneur in Residence at ABHI, along with senior representatives from both organisations.

Through this collaboration ABHI and Knowledge Platform expect to strengthen support systems for schools, educators and families and help build a more inclusive, digitally enabled education environment across Pakistan by integrating education finance with learning ecosystems.
