On International Women’s Day, Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture and Member of the National Assembly from Pakistan Muslim League (N) Farah Naz Akbar delivered a special message underscoring the central role of women in national progress and cultural identity.
She emphasized that women are indispensable to a nation’s development, contributing not only within the household but also across education, politics, the economy, arts and social services. Pakistani women, she noted, continue to offer notable services in every sector of society.
Farah Naz Akbar highlighted the longstanding importance of women in preserving traditions and passing cultural values to younger generations, calling their role in safeguarding national heritage both vital and praiseworthy.
Pointing to state efforts, she said the government is prioritizing education, vocational training and employment opportunities to advance women empowerment so that women can fully participate in and shape public life. She stressed that providing equal opportunities to women is essential for a balanced and developed society.
She also recalled that Islam grants women dignity, respect and fundamental rights, urging that these principles be realized in everyday social practice to ensure tangible protections for women across Pakistan.
Extending International Women’s Day greetings to all Pakistani women, Farah Naz Akbar said an educated, confident and empowered woman forms the foundation of a strong family and prosperous society. She called for collective action to build an environment where women can live with safety, dignity and full empowerment.
