On Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in Islamabad, the Convener of the Pakistan–Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ms. Natasha Daultana, MNA, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Pakistan, Mr. Andrei N. Metelitsa, at the Belarus Embassy. The discussion focused on deepening parliamentary channels to support bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Ms. Daultana underlined the important role that Parliamentary Friendship Groups play in parliamentary diplomacy and in building sustained engagement between legislatures. She invited Ambassador Metelitsa to visit the National Assembly of Pakistan to meet members of the Pakistan–Belarus PFG and proposed organising a virtual session between the Pakistan–Belarus group and its Belarusian counterpart to enhance direct parliamentary exchange.
Ambassador Metelitsa welcomed the outreach and highlighted the cordial relations between Islamabad and Minsk. He recalled a series of high-level visits that have reinforced ties, including the Prime Minister of Belarus attending the SCO Summit in 2024, the President of Belarus visiting Pakistan in November 2024, and the trip by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to Belarus in August 2024 with a parliamentary delegation.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan Belarus ties through increased parliamentary cooperation and continued dialogue. The meeting in Islamabad is expected to pave the way for closer legislative engagement and practical follow-up, reflecting a shared interest in deeper bilateral relations driven by parliamentary channels.
