The Pakistan national women lacrosse team clinched the silver medal at the Asian Lacrosse Games 2026 in Riyadh, marking Pakistan’s first-ever international appearance in the sport and a milestone for women’s athletics at home. The achievement places Pakistan on the regional lacrosse map and signals fresh momentum for the game locally.

Competing against experienced Asian sides, the team’s performances were defined by grit and tactical discipline despite limited resources and the extraordinary challenge of having no substitute players. The squad’s resilience and teamwork were repeatedly on display throughout the tournament as they advanced to the final.

Fiza Zahir emerged as the tournament’s top scorer, netting an impressive 24 goals to become the highest scorer across all teams and a driving force behind Pakistan’s run to the podium. Her finishing and movement created decisive moments in crucial matches.

The medal ceremony was led by Mr Fahad, President of the Saudi Lacrosse Federation, who personally presented the medals to the Pakistan team in recognition of their outstanding showing. The coaching and management team received praise for their contributions, with Irfan Khan providing tactical direction and Syed Muhammad Ilyas Shah overseeing team operations.

Leadership off the field was provided by Chef de Mission Engr. Taifoor Zarin, whose guidance helped ensure Pakistan’s dignified participation, while Pakistan Lacrosse Federation President Mansoor Ahmad Khan hailed the silver as a major milestone for women’s sports and lacrosse development in Pakistan.
